21 DAYS of SELF EXAMINATION

Scripture: Genisis1:27

I was listening to Iyanla's podcast today and she challenged everyone to journal for 21 days about who you are and 21 more days about what you want and then explore what is keeping you from getting what you want.

I plan to take on that challenge starting today by starting with my perspective from childhood to adulthood.

Day 1

As for what I know, my mom and dad met at Piedmont Tech when my mom was around 19 and seeking to get her CNA and my dad was about 11 years older than her. My mom and dad started liking each other and my mom got pregnant with me. While she was pregnant, she found out my dad was ready married so my mom and dad ended their relationship. My mom lived with my Grandma during this time and 9 months later when my mom was getting ready for a 4th of July picnic she started having contractions and then I was born. A healthy dark brown baby girl around 7 pounds. There my journey begins after my mom and I left the Self Memorial hospital.  In the beginning, we lived together with my Grandma in her 3 bedroom brick home with a pretty decent sized yard and nice neighborhood of rural Greenwood, SC.
